Aston Villa has announced that Morgan Rogers, the promising young forward, has committed to a new contract extending his stay until 2031. This decision follows interest from major clubs Chelsea and Tottenham, who were both eager to add Rogers to their ranks.

Pay Raise and Key Player Status

Under the new agreement, Rogers will see an increase in his salary, positioning him among the top earners at Aston Villa. This comes as recognition of his contributions since joining from Middlesbrough in 2024 in a deal worth approximately 20 million EUR. He has become essential to the team under head coach Unai Emery.

Impressive Performance

Since arriving at Aston Villa, Rogers has made 85 appearances and showcased his talent by scoring 18 goals and providing 20 assists. This impressive form earned him caps on the English national squad, contributing to nine international games for “Three Lions”. Additionally, he was recognized as the PFA Young Player of the Season for his stellar performances last year.

Interest from Other Clubs

Earlier in the year, Rogers attracted attention from Chelsea, partly due to his friendship with their player Cole Palmer. Tottenham also considered adding him following Eberechi Eze’s transfer to Arsenal. Ultimately, Aston Villa secured his future, with neither Chelsea nor Tottenham making formal bids.
