Brighton & Hove Albion has finalized an agreement to bring Pascal Gross back from Borussia Dortmund. The 34-year-old midfielder will soon undergo a medical examination, with Brighton officials hopeful his return will strengthen the team’s line-up for the remaining season. This strategic move speaks to Brighton’s aspirations to climb up the league rankings.
Gross transferred to Dortmund from Brighton in August 2024 for approximately â¬10.1 million. His return now involves a reported fee of around â¬2.15 million, potentially complemented by bonuses. During his stay at Dortmund, Gross made 49 appearances, providing significant contributions to the team’s lineup, include one goal and four assists in critical matches.
Pascal Gross’s previous tenure at Brighton was marked by exceptional performance. Over seven seasons, he became a celebrated club figure, serving as the top scorer in Premier League history before his move. His impact was instrumental in Brighton’s sixth-place finish, securing European competition for the club.
Gross has always shared a unique connection with Brighton fans. Upon leaving for Borussia Dortmund, he expressed his heartfelt appreciation through a public note, expressing gratitude to the fans, coaches, and team for their continuous support. His promise to return one day is now a reality, rekindling the relationship with the Brighton community.
With Gross rejoining, Brighton is optimistic about overcoming recent hurdles. The team, currently in the 14th position in the league, is aiming to recover from a six-match winless streak. Their upcoming game against Burnley represents an opportunity to initiate a positive turnaround and boost team morale and standings.
