The current Premier League season has witnessed a raft of strategic player signings as clubs strive to fortify their squads. During the summer transfer window alone, 155 players joined various teams, marking a major reshuffle as squads aim for competitive success.
Among the noteworthy transfers is Rayan Cherki, acquired by Manchester City from Lyon for approximately â¬28 million. Cherki’s record of two goals and seven assists in 14 matches has showcased his excellence under Pep Guardiola’s leadership.
Granit Xhaka, another standout, joined Sunderland from Bayer Leverkusen for around â¬14 million. His influence on the field has been instrumental in bolstering Sunderlandâs vibrant performances this season.
Brentford added Michael Kayode to their ranks, while Liverpool and Leeds United shook up their strategies with the additions of Hugo Ekitike and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, respectively. These signings have been pivotal for their clubs’ current campaigns.
Not all players have adapted seamlessly. Jacob Bruun Larsen, signed by Burnley from Stuttgart, faces challenges with finishing skills, landing him lower on the performance ranking at 73rd.
Christian Nørgaard transitioned from Brentford to Arsenal but has had limited game time, largely appearing in the Carabao Cup, thus placing him 101st as a backup player for now.
Similarly, Mads Hermansen, brought into West Ham from Leicester for about â¬23 million, is still awaiting his debut under the new head coach as he ranks 132nd.
