Manchester United recently announced the dismissal of head coach Ruben Amorim. The decision follows his public criticism of the club’s management structure. Amorim expressed his frustration, stating he intended to complete his managerial contract despite challenges.
Following Amorim’s removal, Manchester United is set to pay him around â¬13.6 million due to his contract termination. This contributes to the club’s financial challenges, accumulating about â¬122 million on managerial changes since 2013. Amorim had declined a â¬10.9 million severance offer shortly before his exit.
Amorim’s assistant, Carlos Fernandes, shared his gratitude on social media, expressing appreciation to players, staff, and fans for their support during his tenure, underscoring the difficulties of working in a top-tier football club.
In the aftermath of Amorimâs exit, Manchester United has named Michael Carrick as the interim manager. A former club player, Carrick will direct the team for the current season while a permanent successor is found, beginning with a pivotal match against Manchester City.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe is set to meet with Joel and Avram Glazer at Manchester Unitedâs upcoming executive committee meeting. This marks the Glazers’ initial visit to the recently upgraded training facility funded by Ratcliffe’s investment. The talks will also examine commercial opportunities, including a new training kit partner.
Jason Wilcox, Director of Football, is actively pursuing a new left winger. Carrick identified this position as a priority due to a lack of left-sided players. The club is exploring a short-term loan option to enhance the squad before the transfer period ends.
Manchester United has shown interest in several players, including RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande. However, a January move may not occur due to Leipzig’s high valuation of approximately â¬90.9 million. The club is eyeing more viable prospects to bolster their attack.
